...

I started skateboarding in 1986 and have been in love with it ever since.   I've worked at shops and ever since I can pretty much remember, I wanted to open my own skateshop.   I wanted to give skaters a place where they could come and feel welcome, get the best product available, and be immersed in skateboarding.

PLUSkateboarding has grown in many ways since we opened in 2003. We’ve torn down walls and expanded the physical size of the shop. In 2017 we moved the shop out of the basement into our current storefront location on Grand River. Our product line is always changing and growing. Our customers are our family and our family has grown and expanded all over the world. We truly appreciate each and every person who comes into the shop.

As soon as you step into PLUS, you are entering a new world!  Look up! The history of the skateboard is up on the ceiling. If you’re over 40, your first board is probably up there, and if you’re under that, you can see where the current popsicle shape evolved from!  PLUS is a must stop for visiting pros and skaters from all over. We strive to give you the best service and be one of the best shop you’ve ever been to!

We are very proud of the products and brands that we carry. We want you to be satisfied with what you buy. Every brand that we sell, we’ve skated, worn, or used and if it meets our high standards, then we’re confident you’ll like it too.

We’ve worked really hard to promote and build our skate scene for all skaters around the shop. Since day one, we worked with the city of Farmington Hills to build a skateboard park. Fortunately for us, they were down to listen to what we wanted and after many, many years of fundraising and hard work, we have Riley Skate Park, a 30,000 sq. ft, free, cement park.

It’s important to us to give back to the skateboard community. Without all our customers, we certainly wouldn’t be here…

We’ve run a Skateboard Camp since 2000. When the shop opened, we did it through the shop. It’s one of the successful programs that we did with the city that helped pave the way for Riley Skate Park. In 2010, we turned the camp into its own business and PLUS Skateboard Camp LLC was born. We continue to teach the camps in the Summer at Riley Park. It’s important to us that if kids are going to go to a skate camp, they learn from people who LOVE skateboarding and will teach them what skateboarding is: FUN.

2023 will mark 20 years of serving skateboarding for SE Michigan.   With the making of this web store, we hope to be able to reach our friends who have moved too far away to come in and also share some of the PLUS love to whoever is out there in need of a skateshop and whatever products we have on here!

We hope to see you in the shop!

peace,
– Rob
